Sauté large onion and garlic together, using your preferred method
In crock pot, put beans, sautéed onions, garlic, and water,
Stir.
Add rosemary, cayenne to taste.
Stir.
Set pot to low for 7 to 9 hours
If there is a lot of excess water at end of cooking, cut back on the water next time.
Place entire content of crock pot into large nonstick skillet (I use my iron skillet).
If beans are not hot, heat them up using medium heat, stirring constantly.
Using either a potato masher or slotted spatula, mash the beans for several minutes.
Let them cook, stirring occasionally, until they become a solid mass.
You made need to crush a little more if the beans are not properly pulverized.
Let cool, store in an airtight container, and use as usual.
